Julia de Castro and Miguel Rodrigáñez will take the most modern cabaret to MIAC
Under the title of ‘Hagiography’ Julia de Castro and Miguel Rodrigáñez are discovered, a combination that usually amazes the public with a renewed, modern and fresh vision of the traditional values of Spanish cuplé and cabaret, the groundbreaking movement that emerged in Parisian premises such as Le Chat Noir and Moulin Rouge.
‘A duet’, the name of his show, is synonymous with spicy humor and freshness, music and critical discourse, provocation, breaking up sexual and social roles in irrefutable, risky and exquisite live shows in which they break down the fourth wall of the stage thanks to a continuous interaction between the public and the artists. In the words of Julia de Castro “the coupe was the pornography of the time.”
Framed within the Festival of Performing Arts of the Centers, ‘A duo’ will present eleven contemporary coupons that Castro and Rodrigáñez narrate with their peculiar style on a journey through the night. It is the story of men seduced by a woman who denies traditional canons. It is a new concept in Spanish music in which creation and folklore are intertwined.
The Centers also propose a suggestive dinner to complete the evening with a menu prepared for the occasion, based on light and modern dishes, and flavors that incite the party. After dinner and the show, the night will continue with a session with DJ Marilyn Chacón.
Hagiography will take ‘A duet’ to MIAC- Castillo de San José next Saturday, February 15, between 8:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. Tickets for the event can be purchased at this link.
