The Crafts Fair of the Canary Islands can be enjoyed in Las Palmas until Sunday
The thirty-fourth edition of the Crafts Fair of the Canary Islands opened its doors with the participation of some 150 artisans from all over the archipelago who represent practically all of these crafts in the Canary Islands.
The Regional Fair to be held until next December 9 in the Santa Catalina park in the capital of Gran Canaria, has another year with the presence of the Cabildo de Lanzarote which this year comes with a representation of the sector of 10 artisans.
Lanzarote’s exhibition proposal for this regional meeting has been designed by the artisan from the island of Carmen Corujo, for an artisanal craft stand, this year focused on the textile technique of the warp (set of threads placed in parallel and along in a loom to pass through the plot and form a fabric).
The Government of the Canary Islands will pay homage to a craftsman from each of the islands, and the honoree of the island will be the neighbor of Haría Eulogio Concepción Perdomo, for a lifetime dedicated to the Basketry of Pírgano. Concepción Perdomo is the only basket maker of the pírgamo that remains on the island, which is why this recognition will be held in the Canary Islands.
The tribute ceremony will be held on Friday, December 7, at 1:00 pm, at the stand of the Government of the Canary Islands, where you can also enjoy an exhibition dedicated to each of the honorees of each island.
