Six pre-Olympic teams will fight for the ‘I Lanzarote Winter Series Trophy’

A total of 6 pre-Olympic sailing teams of class 470 have chosen Lanzarote, due to its weather conditions, to carry out their preseason in preparation for official competitions.

The women’s team of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation formed by two crews trains under the supervision of the national coach Gustavo Martínez Doreste. The team’s players are the Catalan Silvia Mas, Bárbara Cornudella and Sara López and the Gran Canarian Patricia Cantero. Daily they train both in the sea, as well as the physical preparation they perform in the gym of the Real Club Nautico de Arrecife.

The presence of these six pre-Olympic teams makes it possible for this weekend to celebrate the ‘I Trophy Lanzarote Winter Series’ of class 470. There are 3 sets scheduled on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Lanzarote has a high prestige as a racing field in international tests of different types of boats. In this pre-season the fans will be able to see how the sailors who fight to be representing their countries at the 2020 Olympics are working.
