MAS Campesino, a traditional market that aspires to sustainability
MAS Campesino, is the autonomous market of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism. The opening and lighting of a unique Bethlehem, designed Néstor Alonso and Alejandro Dorta, accompanied the opening.
The Sustainable Autonomous Market of the Casa-Museo del Campesino is structured around several exhibition and experiential areas. The first of them, traditional crafts, display elements and techniques that are used to create everyday objects; Agriculture related to crafts. Discover and familiarize with the elements that best explain the historical links of the Lanzarote countryside and the artisan creation; Agriculture and gastronomy explain the history and systems of adaptation in the environment by the ingenious men and women in the Lanzarote countryside.
MAS Campesino is located in the Patio de los Artesanos of the Casa-Museo del Campesino, which will be, from today, a meeting point for traditional crafts, sustainability and local products. Orientation and dissemination of ethnographic values of the island, in order to show what life was like in the Lanzarote countryside through the recreation of a traditional house. It is also planned that the center will host different exhibitions that translate into the meaning of the life of our ancestors on the island.
