Boix Masramón Duo will travel from the lounge music to the opera in Cueva de los Verdes
On January 19, the duo formed by Eugenia Boix (soprano) and Laia Masramón (piano) will give a recital on the island of Lanzarote within the programming of the Cueva de los Verdes Music Festival.
The group will try to provide a broad vision of what once was lounge music, encompassing both solo piano works, and different chamber works with which the artists will travel a musical journey full of harmonic and emotional links to transport the audience to a Final culmination with some of the most appreciated opera arias.
The first part links one of the deepest works of classicism with the first romanticism, that exquisite and humanity-filled language of the mature Schubert, while in the second the atmosphere of the Parisian salon will be recreated, with works by Debussy, Chopin and Liszt A journey of delicacies, contrasts and emotions.
The artists
Laia Masramón is one of the Spanish pianists and fortepianists with the most international projection currently. He has performed in the most important audiences in Spain, as well as in Portugal, France, England, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Tunisia, Colombia and the United States sharing the stage with great international figures such as Maurice Bourgue, Sergio Azzolini, Radovan Vlatkovic, LorenzoGuzzoni, Richard Watkins, Joanna Shaw among others. Since 2006 he combines his concert career with an intense teaching activity in Madrid and teaches courses in piano and chamber music at conservatories in Catalonia, Valencia, Colombia and Tunisia.
Eugenia Boix is one of the most outstanding Spanish sopranos of the current operatic scene. He has sung under the baton of names like: Federico Maria Sardelli, Carlos Mena, Monica Huggett, Albert Recasens, Rossen Milanov, Gennadi Rozhdestvensky, Paul Goodwin, Lionel Bringuier, Kazushi Ono or Sir Neville Marriner among others. He has performed great classical pieces such as Mozart’s “Requiem”, Haendel’s “Dixit Dominus”, Mendelssohn’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” or Bach’s “Magnificat” and numerous piano and string recitals in Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland , Austria, Germany, Russia and America.
