More resources for students to know the trails of Lanzarote
The Department of Environmental Education of the Aula de la Naturaleza de Máguez has made educational resources for the development of educational trails developed by the department itself known as “The Hedgehog” available to the Early Childhood and First Cycle Schools. Helechín “and” La Piedra Mágica “.
The initiative came from the island’s own educational centers that requested environmental advice in order to deepen the knowledge and value of the elements of the natural and sociocultural environment of the island of Lanzarote.
Thus, teachers will have the resources and complementary materials to work with students and they can be used in learning processes, related to the different elements (landscape, natural and / or historical-traditional) of the Lanzarote environment.
It is a series of activities aimed at the presentation, planning and organization of educational trails, included in a didactic folder, as well as a box or backpack with the various characters that accompany “The Magic Stone” and the “Erich Helechin” , and that will help the children to know and take care of our island.
The primary intention is that these resources constitute a motivating and attractive element for the students, in order to realize the path, on the one hand, and to introduce to the diverse contents related to the knowledge of the natural and sociocultural environment that will discover the students along the route.
Thanks to this methodology, students will be able to know and identify the most significant natural, scenic or historical-cultural aspects of the island of Lanzarote, and increase their awareness regarding the balanced use of natural resources and the sustainable use of our natural environment.
