‘El relevo’, a documentary that looks at the future of Lanzarote wine
More than a hundred people attended El Grifo’s premiere of the documentary ‘El Relevo’, the first installment of the saga “Vinos de Lanzarote: una historia por contar”: a set of four audiovisual pieces that will continue to focus on other relevant themes for the sector. The first part delves into the generational change faced by the vine growers of Isla, through the reflections of different professionals linked in one way or another to the wine of Lanzarote.
After the screening of the documentary, made by Liken Films, a colloquium was held, in which some of the protagonists of the video participated. Ignacio Romero, biologist and environmental educator of Senderismo Lanzarote; Ascension Robayna, ecological winegrower; Juan José Otamendi, co-owner of Bodegas El Grifo; Francisco de León, viticulturist; Rubén Acosta, vice president of the Regulatory Board; and Mario Ferrer, author of the book Lanzarote and wine and collaborator of the documentary; They presented their vision and experiences on this matter.
Likewise, the public was also part of the debate, transferring their doubts and concerns to the protagonists. Once the colloquium was over, all the attendees offered some references of Lanzarote wines.
