Alexis Ravelo presents this Wednesday ‘The Blindness of the Crab’, a crime novel set in Lanzarote

Alexis Ravelo will present on Wednesday ‘The Blindness of the Crab’, a police novel set in Lanzarote edited by Siruela and that has been promoted by the FCM through a residence scholarship granted to the author to develop his work for the activities scheduled in the frame of the centenary of César Manrique. The event will take place in Taro de Tahíche on May 29 at 7:00 p.m.

Ravelo narrates in his book a criminal plot that focuses on the investigation of Sergeant Angel Fuentes about the death, apparently accidental, of a historian, his partner Olga Herrera, while working on a doctoral thesis on César Manrique.

Just landed in Lanzarote, Sergeant Fuentes will be reproducing through the volcanic landscape of the island the itinerary his partner made to be documented. But he will soon suspect that he is not alone in his journey, that there are those who follow in his footsteps as he must have followed Olga’s, that she must have discovered something that many are willing to silence.

On a telluric and incomparable geography, both physical and symbolic, “The blindness of the crab” displays an absorbing criminal intrigue in which all its protagonists are faced with two only options: open their eyes to face the truth or, like the crabs that inhabit the Jameos del Agua, live blind and oblivious to what happens in their environment.
