Around two thousand students participated in the First Festival of School Theater of Lanzarote

During the month of May the 1st School Theater Festival of Lanzarote was held. The result was four successful theater days (on May 8, 9, 22 and 23) in which eight plays were performed, in which more than 150 students and 10 teachers participated in the making and staging, and whose performances More than 1,900 students have attended.

The objective of the First Festival of School Theater of Lanzarote was to bring the performing arts, and specifically the theater, closer to the educational centers of the Island, with the aim of complementing the training of students with a cultural activity, such as creation of a play, thus contributing to the integral development of children and young people.

The project began in November 2018 with specific training in stage assembly for 20 teachers, certified by the Center for Teaching of Lanzarote, and was a starting point to expand their knowledge while sharing their concerns regarding the use of theater as an educational tool.
