Falla Ensemble – Visual Music Festival

Falla Ensemble is a group specialized in the interpretation of music from the 20th and 21st centuries. The Ensemble is built on the template of the Concerto for Clave and five instruments by the Cádiz-born composer Manuel de Falla, a work that is taken as the starting point of the repertoire.

This work and this author could be an excuse for the creation of the Ensemble, but it would be unfair to forget the other protagonist of this project: the key.

“From our point of view, the key is an instrument unjustly forgotten outside its golden age (from the sixteenth century to the eighteenth century), and we say that it is an instrument unjustly forgotten because we believe that its special sonority can contribute a lot to contemporary music”.

With the creation of the Falla Ensemble, the Nino Díaz Foundation wanted to honor one of the best composers in our history and, in addition, promote the key by spreading its contemporary repertoire and encouraging the creation of new works.
