A musical about the life of Manrique will travel the islands from September

From September, the theaters of all the Canary Islands will see on stage the life and work of César Manrique in the form of a musical commemorating the centenary of the artist’s natalacio from Lanzarote.

The result will be the result of the co-production between the City Council of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the César Manrique Foundation, the Auditorium Theater Foundation of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Mestisay and Clapso Theatrical Productions.

The script of the musical will be the work of Manolo González, who in his own words defines it as “an integral show where different epochs and environments will appear where César developed his work and his life”. In the musical, works exponent of Canarian author’s song will be mixed, also reivinidcative, with others composed ex professo for the show. The musical direction will be German Arias. It is expected that the musical premieres in September at the Teatro Pérez Galdós, with ten performances, and with touring other theaters of the Islands.
