‘César Manrique. 100 years of life ‘continues with its travel this Tuesday in Puerto de los Mármoles
The traveling exhibition ‘César Manrique. 100 years of life ‘, curated by Adonay Bermúdez, will inaugurate the new passenger terminal of the company Fred. Olsen Express, official shipping company of the centenary of the artist, located in the Port of Arrecife. The beginning of the exhibition will take place this Wednesday, September 11, at 11:15 a.m.
‘that Manrique. 100 years of life ‘is composed of thirty panels with images and texts that include not only the artist’s pictorial work, but also his public and sculptural work. Likewise, this exhibition highlights its environmental protection work and its activist character through its own words. The exhibition offers a chronological and informative reading, with the aim of bringing the artist’s life and work closer to all audiences.
About the centenary of the birth of César Manrique, which is commemorated between April 24, 2019 and April 24, 2020, the FCM and Fred. Olsen Express signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of disseminating the figure and work of the artist. Based on this agreement, the FCM and Fred. Olsen Express agreed to launch about a dozen joint actions. Among them, the application on the bow of its vessels operating in Lanzarote, the Bonanza Express and the Bocayna Express, of the centennial institutional logo stands out.
In addition, different commemorative actions have been carried out on both ships, such as the decoration of its interiors with reproductions of the fish from the Atlantic Fauna series that the artist painted between 1984 and 1985, the sale of centenary products in the on-board stores or the projection of audiovisuals that spread thought, work and, in short, the figure of one of the most influential Canarian artists of the twentieth century.
The celebration of the inauguration of this exhibition will take place at the port of Arrecife, in Fred’s new passenger terminal. Olsen Express, located in Puerto de los Mármoles, Las Caletas s / n, Arrecife, 35500 Lanzarote.
