Chamber Orchestra of St. Petersburg – Canary Islands Music Festival

he St. Petersburg Russian Chamber Orchestra, founded in 1990 by musicians graduated from the renowned Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in St. Petersburg, is undoubtedly one of the most important musical ambassadors in their country. The orchestra impressively reflects the musical talent and high level of musical education of its city. An extraordinary and wide repertoire that encompasses from the Baroque to contemporary music has made it one of the most requested chamber formations in Europe.

Thanks to its virtuosity and extraordinary sound, the orchestra regularly collaborates with world-renowned soloists in the most important international concert halls and festivals. Mstislav Rostropovich, Nigel Kennedy, Vadim Repin, Mikis Theodorakis, Igor Oistrach, Mischa Maisky, Sir James Galway, Giora Feidman, Sharon Kam, Sergei Nakariakov, Gabor Boldoczki, Andrei Gavrilov, Elena Bashkirova and David Garrett are some of the famous artists played with the orchestra.

The St. Petersburg Russian Chamber Orchestra has performed in renowned halls and festivals such as the Gewandhaus Leipzig, Alte Oper Frankfurt, Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Gasteig de Munich, Opera de Bayreuth, Teatro Real de Madrid, Theater de la Sociedad Bilbao Philharmonic, Theater Municipal Luxemburg, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Rheingau Music Festival, Izmir International Festival, Musique Festival in Vendée and Music Summer Weggis, among others.
