Presentation concert of the band Teguey

The Teguey Popular Music Band aims to rescue traditional and popular Canarian repertoire, and to publicize the themes of their own production, although in this first concert, South American popular music will also have its space. Folklore will have another important event in the municipality of San Bartolomé on Tuesday, April 30 at 9:00 pm, with the presentation of the Teguey Popular Music Association, at the San Bartolomé Theater.

Teguey has its origin in a meeting of friends at the end of the year 2017, in which enthusiastic decide to get involved in the creation of a Popular Music Group, of which the municipality lacks, according to Leo Garcia, director of the same. The musical line they have in mind for the Association is based on the traditional and popular Canarian repertoire, popular South American and their own creation, accompanied by timple, against, guitars, lutes, bandurrias, acoustic bass, percussion and keyboard.

Teguey, in this year and a half has been consolidated, counting on 23 components at the moment, under the presidency of Sergio García and direction of Leo García. They will be presented in partnership in the municipality of San Bartolomé. The event will also include the participation of the presenter Francisco José Navarro and the invited Soloists, José Manuel García, member of “Los Campesinos” and Ruymán Martín, member of the “El Golpito Parranda”.
