‘Sweet beasts’, Dance Festival Jameos del Agua

The Nomad Company represents in the Jameos del Agua Auditorium the contemporary dance piece Sweet Beasts, recently awarded with five Replica Awards for the Performing Arts of the Canary Islands in its 2018 edition, which makes it the best show of the year according to these awards.

The scenic proposal of Sweet Beasts shows a reflection on the animal heritage that humanity possesses, based on the use of animal attributes to transcend its condition and overcome the adversities of nature. Roberto Torres, director and choreographer of the show, explains that “today we live in a jungle of noise and asphalt, with other sweet beasts, and somehow we yearn for nature, to which we belong, and from which we are further away every day” .

The skin with the costumes of Yaiza Pinillos, the connection with Nature through the unpublished music of Samuel Aguilar, together with the enlightenment of Grace Morales, and the “beasts” in the bodies of Paula Quintana, Daniel Morales and Paloma Hurtado, they express their animality as they lower their heads before the power of immense Nature.
