Iván Ferreiro, Goran Bregovic and other 20 concerts to celebrate the centenary of Manrique
On the morning of Monday, the program of musical activities planned to mark the centenary of the birth of César Manrique was presented at the Mirador del Río, which will have as its epicenter the ‘Manrique Stage’, installed on the Playa del Reducto ( Arrecife) and to which will be added about 400 artists to perform more than twenty concerts in eleven days.
The activity in the ‘Manrique Stage’ will begin on Wednesday April 24 with the show ‘The Illusion of César’ created expressly for the occasion by the company Pieles; that will be followed on Tuesday 25 of the concerts of Iván Ferreiro y Mucho.
On Friday, April 26, Canary Workshop of Song, Taburiente and Maru Cabrera will perform; on Saturday the 27th, Vacancy Coffin and Unsuitable; and on Sunday 28 the protagonist will be for the timple with the performance of Toñín Corujo, Benito Cabrera, Alexis Lemes, José Vicente and El Colorao
Soul and funk will take over on Tuesday, April 30 with the performance of Brooklyn Funk Essentials and J.P. Bimeni and The Blackbelts; while on Wednesday, May 1 Olga Cerpa and Mestisay will perform, as well as Beni Ferrer; on Thursday, the 2nd, Diego Barber and Simbeque; and on Friday 3, Goran Bregovic.
On Saturday, May 4, the Instrumental Group and Choirs of the Symphony Orchestra of Las Palmas will offer the concert ‘Carmina Burana’; and on Sunday the 5th, Los Sabandeños, Los Gofiones and Acatife will put a finishing touch on the musical activities of the Manrique Stage.
