Lanzarote also paid tribute to Aretha Franklin

 In Music, News

On August 16 Aretha Franklin passed away, considered by the History of Music as the true queen of soul. From that date the tributes to her figure have been followed throughout the terraqueous geography. Last November 23 was the turn for Lanzarote.

With the production of this tribute concert to Aretha Franklin by Carlos Almaguer, who also led the drums, the approximately 150 attendees at Bodega El Grifo were able to enjoy an entertaining music event. The voice was given by Julia Sosa, who was accompanied at the choirs by Marian and Fátima Hernández.

The rest of the musical accompaniment was completed by Aleksandr Kutnevic on piano, Ayoze Rodríguez on clarinet, Carlos Campos on guitar and Antonio Pirise on bass.

Among the songs performed, Aretha’s great classics were widely present. Chain of fools, Natural woman, Respect, Oh happy day or Say a little prayer. A cold but pleasant night, in an atmosphere of love for music in a unique place in the world such as La Geria.
