Palabra al Vuelo returns with 38 shows and 3 workshops in ten days
The Words in Flight festival 2019 will travel through new scenarios through new narrative voices. From the Cueva de los Verdes – where the Collective Story Planet function will be held – you will arrive at Curita beach (Playa Honda), La Geria and Tinamala mountain, without leaving theaters, libraries and cultural centers.
The aim of the festival, which will take place from October 17 to 27 in Lanzarote, is to continue
producing shows of the most ancestral performing art, oral narration, which has a
loyal, heterogeneous and increasingly numerous public on the island.
This year’s poster consists of the artists Halima Hamdane (Morocco / France), Gorsy Edú (Equatorial Guinea), Maísa Marbán (León), Celso Fernández Sanmartín (Galicia), Concha Real (Madrid), Juan Carlos Tacoronte (Tenerife) , Antonio López (Gran Canaria), Pancho Bordón (Gran Canaria) and Bönaí Capote (Lanzarote).
The program includes 38 shows for adult public and family public, in addition to those that have been arranged with nine institutes of the island, the Penitentiary Center of Lanzarote, the Residence of the Insular Hospital, the Centers for minors of Arab immigrants and the Plant Children’s Hospital Dr. José Molina Orosa. It will be narrated in Spanish, in Arabic and in French.
Words on the Fly will offer 3 training workshops this year: one aimed at professional and amateur illustrators taught by Álex Falcón -author of the festival’s image- in
Ars Magna, another oriented to the narration in the classroom that will lead Maisa Marbán, narrator, philologist and with a great experience as a trainer, and a third workshop to develop mental agility, spontaneity and emotional intelligence through African art, which He will develop Gorsy Edú, actor, choreographer, musician and trainer.
