‘Territorial acupuncture of Lanzarote’: a study that includes all the architectural work of Manrique
Alejandro Scarpa presented on Monday at the MIAC the compendium of five years of research on the architectural work of César Manrique that has resulted in a doctoral thesis of more than eight hundred pages and the book ‘César Manrique. Territorial acupuncture in Lanzarote.
And the first book that collects the complete work of César Manrique, from which has also been the first thesis in Architecture. The author himself, Alejandro Scarpa explained that seeks to “integrate” the various “partial, fragmented” works that existed of César Manrique.
The book contains a guide to Lanzarote, a biography and the entire architectural work of the artist and is illustrated with numerous photographs. Thousand copies have been published, which will go on sale in the next few days at the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of the (CACT) Cabildo de Lanzarote and in bookstores.
In addition, it is written in five languages, in order to reach the largest number of visitors, and “integrates all opposing views” from the numerous interviews conducted by Alejandro Scarpa in his research.
