The III edition of the Festival of Music of Cueva de los Verdes already knows its lineup
The Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism of Lanzarote have announced the winning proposals in the call to complete the poster of the III Festival of Music of the Cave of the Greens. The winning musicians have been the Trio Rodín, Voice against, Luis Fernando Pérez and Daahoud Salim Quintet.
The jury’s decision was supported by the external advice of Natalia Álvarez Simó, Director of the Theaters of the Community of Madrid Channel. From the organization expects a “varied, original and quality festival.” The Festival’s proposals will be developed between the months of October 2019 and February 2020 in the Cueva de los Verdes.
Program
–Trio Rodin present with ‘Shall we dance?’ an eclectic and incessant dance that takes place on a metaphorical journey that takes the viewer from Spain to Lithuania, through Russia, Argentina and the United States. Jorge Mengotti on piano, Carles Puig on violin and Esther García on cello will perform Joaquín Turina’s five gypsy dances, together with pieces by Lithuanian composer Anatolijus Senderovas; by Lev Atovmyan, who arranged several of the works of the great master Dmitri Shostakovich; Canarian composer Teobaldo Power, Astor Piazzolla and American Paul Schoenfield.
–Voz en contra are Reinier Elizarde “El Negrón”, a prominent bassist of the current jazz scene, and Marina Lledó, Brazilian Hispanic singer, musician and composer, who come together to propose an interesting and exotic musical journey between Brazil, Cuba and their inner worlds through original compositions. They invite us to take a tour through Latin jazz, world music and fusion of styles.
–Luis Fernando Pérez has toured stages in Europe, Asia and North America participating in festivals such as Schleswig-Holstein, La Roque d’Antheron, Jacobins, Santander or Granada, and has collaborated with orchestras such as the Barcelona Symphony and National of Catalonia , the Symphony of the Principality of Asturias, the Orchestral Ensemble of Paris and the Chamber Orchestra Franz Liszt, of Budapest, among many others. He will perform pieces by Chopin, Debussy, Mompou, Albéniz and Falla at the Jameos del Agua Auditorium.
–Daahoud Salim Quintet, on the other hand, is an international jazz group that was born in Amsterdam in 2015. Composed by Bruno Calvo, Pablo Martínez, Daahoud Salim, Hendrik Müller and Sun-Mi Hong, they have walked their original musical proposal for some of the most important venues and festivals in Europe, such as the Bimhius, the Madrid International Jazz Festival, the Mas i Mas Festival in Jamboree, Amersfoor Jazz Festival and the Parco dalla Musica Auditorium, in Rome. In 2016, the jury of Europar Jazzaldia awarded them the prizes for the best band and the best soloist at the Getxo Jazz Festival.
