The literary festival ‘Cuéntame Yaiza’ begins tomorrow
Four days dedicated to children’s literature with workshops, book presentations, storytelling, talks and shows, is the invitation letter of the literary festival ‘Cuéntame Yaiza’ that this week takes place in the southern towns of Uga, Yaiza and Playa Blanca. This new meeting with the lyrics is scheduled between Wednesday 20 and Saturday 23 February, and whose full program can be found on the cover of www.yaiza.es
The City of Yaiza will present on Thursday 21, at 10:00 in Uga, the illustrated book ‘Yaiza and the camel of Uga’, an exciting story that encourages reading and reinforces the knowledge of the culture of the earth. The work is written by Diego González and Laura Escuela and illustrated by Nareme Melián. It is the second municipal publication of children’s literature after the book ‘Yaiza y el Rubicón’ presented by the Institution at the 2017 Playa Blanca Book Fair.
‘Yaiza and the camel of Uga’, however, will not be the only children’s book to discover the festival since the very day of its opening is organized the presentation of the book of the workshop of Creation of Tales taught by the writer Mayte Pozo. This appointment is on Wednesday 20, at 18:00 hours, at the House of Culture Benito Pérez Armas after the storytelling session with Patricia Fairy.
‘Cuéntame Yaiza’ also has activities planned in cultural centers and educational centers of the municipality such as Cristina Early Storytelling on Friday 22 at the Library of Playa Blanca or the illustration workshop with artist Nareme Melián on Thursday 21 at the IES Yaiza. The literary festival offers a wide range of proposals to have fun and learn.
