The third edition of Insularia begins its journey in La Graciosa
Starting next Friday, December 14, La Graciosa will host the third edition of Insularia-Islas en Red, the film festival that features outstanding cinematographic examples produced in island territories around the globe.
It will be in free sessions, in the Parish Hall in the afternoons, and at open air at night. During the weekend is intended to sow the seeds of an event that seeks to consolidate. In this sense, the event that takes place in an itinerant way in several of the islands of the Archipelago, will take La Graciosa as a nerve center and starting point.
Puerto Rico, guest island.
Each year, the event offers its public the chance to get close to the highlights of the cinematography of an island territory and in this third edition the guest island is Puerto Rico. In this sense, between December 14 and 16 on the island of La Graciosa, a sample of the recent Puerto Rican cinema produced during the last decade on the Caribbean island will be screened.
These are films with a high incidence in international festivals such as “Before the Cock” (2016), which won the UNICEF Prize 2016 for the best film about childhood, among other awards, as well as the award winner “La Granja” (2015) premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, and has outstanding awards such as Best Opera Prima at the Guadalajara Film Festival, or the Puerto Rico-Argentina co-production “Lucas, Paco, Luis and three girls in pink” (2014) nominated for the Platinum Prizes of Ibero-American Cinema in representation of Puerto Rico and which closes with a flourish the screenings next Sunday, October 16th.
