[CANCELLED] The World Press Photo exhibition brings the best of photojournalism to Lanzarote

This Friday, the most important photojournalism exhibition in the world that annually stops in Lanzarote, the World Press Photo 2018, is set in Arrecife.

This prestigious photographic exhibition is the result of a press photography contest that awards the best works in different thematic categories.

For the first time, the World Press Photo Foundation presents 6 nominated photographs to win the World Press Photo award of the year, opening a debate on which is the most representative photo of the year.

Its inauguration will be tomorrow Friday at 8:00 pm at the Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz and will remain open to the public free of charge for several weeks.

World Press Photo 2018 in figures

The 137 winning photographs have been chosen among the 73,044 images that have been submitted to the contest, made by 4,548 photographers from 125 countries. Spain is the fourth country in the world after China, the United States and Italy that more photographers have presented with 229 candidacies.
