The XXXI Nanino Díaz Cutillas Folk Festival will make Mancha Blanca the epicenter of Canarian folklore

 In Music, News

The Nanino Díaz Cutillas Folk Festival will live its thirty-first edition this year and will celebrate it with a large poster that includes five outstanding folk groups from Lanzarote and the Canary Islands. This musical encounter, within the program of events of the Feasts of the Virgin of Sorrows, aspires to return to turn the town of Mancha Blanca into the epicenter, for one day, of the folklore of the Canary Islands.

The program has included an outstanding representation of the island of Lanzarote itself, with the folk groups El Pavón, Guanapay and Choirs and Dances of Arrecife, the latter group that in this 2019 has completed 60 years of existence and has been recognized with the Gold Medal of the Canary Islands. But in addition two groups from other islands have been incorporated that have a very important relevance in the evolution of folklore throughout the Archipelago in recent decades, such as the Sabinosa, El Hierro, and Estrella y Guía groups, in Gran Canaria.

The 31st Nanino Díaz Cutillas Folk Festival will be held tomorrow, Friday, September 13, starting at 9:00 pm , in the square of the Church of Mancha Blanca (Tinajo). Admission is free.
