This Monday begins the Official Section of the Lanzarote Film Show
Today, November 25, the projections of the Official Section of the ninth edition of the Lanzarote Film Show begin. The seven films in this section that qualify for the Jury Prize are: Bird Island, MS Slavic 7, Heimat is a Space in Time, Longa noite, Present.Perfect, On va tout péter and Movements of a Nearby Mountain.
All these films, which have already gone through important international festivals such as Toronto, Berlin, Rotterdam, San Sebastian or Seville, now arrive in Lanzarote to show their critical and conflicting analysis of the actual conditions of the present and the history of the twentieth century.
After the screening of the films there will be a colloquium with the invited directors: the Austrian Sebastian Brameshuber (Movements of a Nearby Mountain), the Chinese Shengze Zhu (Present.Perfect), the Canadian Sofia Bohdanowicz (MS Slavic 7), the English and the Frenchwoman Lech Kowalski and Odile Allard (On va tout péter), and the Galician Eloy Enciso (Longa noite). The Swiss Sérgio da Costa and Maya Kosa (Bird Island) will participate telematically.
A jury composed of Beatrice Fiorentino, member of the selection committee of the International Critics’ Week in Venice; David Varela, co-director and programmer of DocumentaMadrid; and Felipe de la Hoz, film critic and cultural manager of reference in Lanzarote, will deliberate on Friday publicly the winning film of this ninth edition of the Sample.
