Welcome to the 8th edition of Muestra de Cine de Lanzarote
Organized by an independent cultural association, the Tenique Film Association, the Lanzarote Film Festival is a cultural project that takes place at the end of each year in different municipalities of the island. It was born in 2011, and under the direction of two renowned professionals from the world of cinema -Javier Tolentino and Víctor Moreno-, it has been consolidated as a benchmark event in national and international independent films. In 2018 the Screening embarks on a new stage with Javier Fuentes Feo as director.
During these eight years of existence, internationally awarded filmmakers have participated in the Screening. Víctor Erice, Basilio Martín Patino, Rita Acevedo, Federica di Giacomo, Oliver Laxe, Nelson Carlo de los Santos, Thomas Mauch, and many others, presented their films here, gave courses and held interesting debates about contemporary cinema.
In this eighth edition, in addition to the traditional sections Official and Cruce de Caminos (Canarian Filmmakers), the Film Festival launches two new sections: Trasfoco and Destiladera. In addition, the show, like other years, goes beyond the screening room, connecting the cinema with its immediate context through walks around the island, formative experiences for young people and workshops for boys and girls.
