Caleta de Famara is gearing up for four consecutive days of music and festivities for its fiestas, which between Thursday 27 and Sunday 30 August will bring several nights of parrandas (traditional folk music gatherings) and verbenas (open-air dances) with some of the regular bands on Lanzarote's fiesta circuit.
The programme opens with a night devoted to parrandas and carries on through the weekend with late-night verbenas, a big afternoon session on Saturday and the Verbena del Agua to close on Sunday. Grupo Bomba, Banda Nueva, Leyenda Joven, La Resistencia and Mambo con Fuego are among the names heading to Caleta de Famara.
On Thursday 27 August, from 9:30 pm, the Noche de Parrandas will feature Pal Porrón, Los Valles and Gurfines Son del Puerto.
Friday 28 August brings the first big verbena of the weekend. From 11:30 pm to 4:00 am, the music will come from Grupo Bomba and Banda Nueva.
The party starts much earlier on Saturday 29 August, with a verbena running from 6:00 pm to midnight. On stage will be Leyenda Joven, La Resistencia and Mambo con Fuego, along with DJ Chipi.
The finale comes on Sunday 30 August, from 2:00 pm, with the Verbena del Agua and the music of Banda Nueva, rounding off four consecutive days of parrandas and verbenas in Caleta de Famara.
