Arrecife en Vivo devotes its second day to the island's own talent with a new edition of the Gala AEV Channel, which on Saturday 5 September will bring together six bands and artists with ties to Lanzarote. The concerts start at 6:00 pm in the Plaza de Naos at Marina Lanzarote and run until midnight, with free admission.
After the opening day, Canariedad Suprema, the festival shifts its focus to take in different generations and styles of the island's scene. Rock, blues, grunge, dub, funk, jazz, reggae, stoner and metal will share two stages, with performances by Lidia Con Ello, Boris Blace with 15 Feet Underground, Toti Sanz, Sao, Los Callaos and Kardomillo.
Six concerts in six hours
The day kicks off at 6:00 pm with Lidia Con Ello, a songwriter with two decades of experience who moves between rock, blues and grunge. At 7:00 pm it is the turn of trombonist and composer Boris Blace with his project 15 Feet Underground, a band that combines dub, funk, jazz and reggae.
Toti Sanz takes the stage at 8:00 pm with a set shaped by his bond with island and Atlantic identity. At 9:00 pm comes Sao, the band led by Lanzarote-born Yaiza Cuenca, who will present New Life, a self-released EP that ventures into stoner rock and metal.
At 10:00 pm Los Callaos take over, a line-up led by Álvaro Guzmán, former singer of The Right Ons, featuring Lanzarote musicians such as Ane Fernández and former members of Zürych. Their sound leans towards melodic rock.
Kardomillo close the night from 11:00 pm. The veteran Titerroy band, with three decades on stage, returns with its particular blend of satire, humour and mixed styles to round off six hours devoted to music made on the island.
