On Monday 14 September, the Fiestas de Los Dolores host one of their liveliest nights with the Merengazo Joven, a big Latin music session starting at 8:00 pm in Mancha Blanca that will bring Edwin Rivera with the Orquesta La Sabrosa, Luita, Grupo Bomba, Banda Nueva, Mambo Latino and DJ Ángel Pérez to the stage.
Topping the bill is Puerto Rican Edwin Rivera, a veteran artist who began his career in salsa before making the leap to merengue, adding songs such as Quiéreme, No puedo olvidarla, Asesina and Me llega al alma to his repertoire. He will be joined by the Orquesta La Sabrosa, a Tenerife band founded in 1989 with a long track record in Latin music in the Canary Islands.
The night continues with a line-up made for dancing. Grupo Bomba, a Canarian band active since 2002, will bring its mix of merengue, cumbia, bachata and covers of current hits to Mancha Blanca, while Luita, Banda Nueva and Mambo Latino complete the performances before DJ Ángel Pérez keeps the party going. The Merengazo Joven will be one of the last big musical celebrations of Los Dolores before Malú's concert the following day.
Before the Merengazo, the Plaza de Los Dolores will also have its own programme, with a performance by comedian Juanito Panchín and music from the Orquesta Lanzarote Swing.
