Arrieta's Festivities Committee has put together a full programme for the Fiestas de Arrieta 2026, which will run from 20 to 26 July. This is one of the area's most deeply rooted celebrations, held in honour of local fishermen and fisherwomen. Everyone is invited to enjoy a programme of activities designed to appeal to residents of all ages.
Programme
The programme begins on Monday 20 July with a street parade at 5:00 pm from La Garita to the harbour. This will be followed by a surprise bingo session at the socio-cultural centre and, at 9:30 pm, a fashion show with a performance by the MTDANCE dance school.
On Tuesday 21 July at 11:00 am, the orienteering activity ‘Laberint-O’ will take place on the beach. In the afternoon, at around 6:00 pm, there will be a baking competition at the socio-cultural centre, along with the draw and start of the truco card championship and, half an hour later, Verano Joven 2026 begins at SinEdad. The day closes at 9:30 pm with a performance by comedian Yésica Trujillo.
On Wednesday 22 July at 11:00 am there will be a treasure hunt and an orienteering race on the beach. At 6:30 pm, Verano Joven 2026 continues at SinEdad, along with the draw and start of the envite card championship at the socio-cultural centre. At 9:30 pm there will be the playback show ‘Vuelven nuestros artistas’.
On Thursday 23 July at 6:30 pm there will be a DJ workshop as part of Verano Joven, followed by a community roseta session at SinEdad. Later, at 8:00 pm, a public barbecue will be held in tribute to Pilar María Villalba Cabrera, organised by the Festivities Committee, with the burning of El costero and performances by Alegranza and the parrandas (traditional Canarian folk groups) Los Valles.
On Friday 24 July at 4:30 pm, the inflatable mattress race takes place at the harbour, along with a wheelbarrow gymkhana with DJ Jefecito. At 7:00 pm there will be a draw and the start of the ronda card championship at the socio-cultural centre. At 10:00 pm there will be an open-air dance with Swing del Norte, Tremendo Son, Javi Fajardo and Vocal Force.
On Saturday 25 July at 10:00 am there will be a surfing championship on the beach, followed at 11:00 am by a colour party with a DJ and inflatables. At 5:30 pm, the book ‘El viaje de Yazmina’ will be presented by the author herself at the socio-cultural centre. At 6:00 pm there will be a draw and the start of the chinchón and cinquillo card championships and, at 8:30 pm, the asalto with Swing del Norte, Vocal Force and Tremendo Son.
On Sunday 26 July the fiestas come to a close with a performance by the choir Iris del Mar at 12:00 pm, followed by the procession on land and at sea. At 9:00 pm there will be a closing gala.
