The emblematic Casa de la Cultura Agustín de la Hoz in Arrecife hosts, from 7:30 PM this Thursday 21, the concert 'Mano a Mano' featuring the Lanzarote-born Ciro Corujo and the Tenerife-born José Manuel Ramos, two of the most representative voices of Canarian popular music, accompanied by fellow Lanzarote-born musician Salvador Pérez on requinto.
The performance will offer the audience an intimate and close-up experience in acoustic format, without microphones or sound amplification, with a repertoire centred on Canarian roots music and singer-songwriter traditions.
Coming from a well-known Lanzarote family of traditional musicians and singers, Ciro Corujo has built a solid artistic career marked by authenticity and the defence of Canarian popular song. His voice and interpretative personality have made him one of the most outstanding singers in the Canary Islands, bringing the island's musical tradition to numerous stages.
José Manuel Ramos is considered one of the most relevant performers and promoters of traditional Canarian music. Coming from a historic family of folklorists, he achieved great popularity as lead soloist of Los Sabandeños, with whom he toured national and international stages for over a decade. His artistic career has also been linked to projects such as Mestisay, Parranda de Cantadores, and various record and television productions, consolidating a career of reference within Canarian popular music.
Salvador Pérez is a virtuoso of the requinto, a fundamental instrument in traditional folk music. Recognised for his interpretative sensitivity and his ability to enrich each piece with unique melodic arrangements, he has collaborated with numerous artists and projects linked to Canarian popular music. His presence will bring to the show a singular sound deeply rooted in the island's musical tradition.
