From 24 to 26 September, the Culture Department of the Cabildo de Lanzarote y La Graciosa is organising an intensive acting workshop at El Almacén led by director, screenwriter and producer Miguel Ángel Vivas. Registration for this training opens this Tuesday 25 August, at a price of €30.
Over three days, actors and directors will be able to explore acting for the camera in depth and in practice, and get to know the methods used in professional filmmaking. Each participant will work on a previously selected film scene and receive individual guidance throughout the process.
Three days of work in front of the camera
The workshop will cover script analysis and comprehension, character building, acting for the camera, emotional work and listening, the relationship between actor and director, and the preparation of film scenes. It will also offer tools for approaching casting processes with greater confidence.
The course will be led by Miguel Ángel Vivas, one of Spain's most experienced film and television directors, particularly associated with thriller and drama. His filmography includes Secuestrados (Kidnapped), which brought him international recognition; Extinction, starring Matthew Fox and Jeffrey Donovan; Inside, with Rachel Nichols; Tu hijo, led by José Coronado; and Asedio, with Natalia de Molina. On television he has also directed episodes of series such as La casa de papel (Money Heist) and Vis a vis: El Oasis.
The workshop will run on Thursday 24 and Friday 25 September, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and on Saturday 26, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, at CIC El Almacén. It is aimed at professional and trainee actors and directors and is recommended for those aged 16 and over.
