Marco Mezquida and Xavi Torres headline the Festival Canarias Jazz & Más concerts in Lanzarote

The Festival Internacional Canarias Jazz & Más returns to Lanzarote with two concerts headlined by some of the most outstanding pianists on today's jazz scene. The event will take place on 17 July from 19:30, in the square at El Almacén in Arrecife.

The programme will bring together on the same stage the Xavi Torres Trío, joined by Puerto Rican saxophonist Miguel Zenón, and the Marco Mezquida Trío, presenting TÁCTIL, their new album released this year.

Xavi Torres is considered one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary European jazz. Trained at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, the pianist has received numerous accolades, among them the Dutch Jazz Competition, several Premios Enderrock and the award for Best Jazz Band in Catalonia. He was also the second Spanish musician to reach the final of the prestigious Thelonious Monk Jazz Competition.

Marco Mezquida, for his part, arrives in Lanzarote with TÁCTIL, his fourth record alongside Aleix Tobías and Martín Meléndez. The album marks a further step in a career defined by sensitivity, improvisation and a blend of influences, cementing the trio as one of the most acclaimed line-ups in Spanish jazz.

The Festival Canarias Jazz & Más will once again turn Arrecife into one of the stages of the international jazz circuit, bringing two top-flight acts together in a single evening with free admission.
