Playa Blanca will welcome the summer on Tuesday 23 June with a lively celebration of the noche de San Juan (midsummer's eve) that will fill the southern resort with music and a festive atmosphere. The programme offers an open-air evening in which residents and visitors alike can enjoy musical performances at various points around the town.
The celebration will begin at 19:30 with a pasacalle (street parade) by Batucada Los Timanfeiros along Calle Limones, running the length of Playa Blanca's main shopping street and bringing rhythm and colour to one of the most eagerly awaited nights of the year. The parade will finish at the town's small beach, where the main events of the day will be concentrated.
From 20:30, live music takes centre stage with performances by Grupo Bourbon and Punto de Fuga, two bands who will offer a repertoire of covers designed to accompany the celebration by the sea and the start of summer in a festive, family-friendly atmosphere.
