Puerto del Carmen lines up two weeks of fiestas with concerts, sport and activities for all the family

Puerto del Carmen is already warming up for the Fiestas de Nuestra Señora del Carmen 2026 (the festivities in honour of the patron saint of sailors), which will run from 27 July to 9 August with an extensive programme of activities that will once again turn La Tiñosa and El Varadero into the festive heart of the Lanzarote summer. Live music, verbenas (open-air street parties), traditional events, sporting competitions, activities for children and the eagerly awaited procesión marítima (seaborne procession) make up a programme designed for all ages.

For almost two weeks, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy concerts, festivals, workshops, exhibitions, tournaments and popular activities, culminating in the religious ceremonies in honour of the patron saint of sailors. Among the big names this year are David Bustamante, the La Tiñosa & Más festival and performances by Nandy, La Golosina, Chucho Boom, Bombo Inferno, PlayaCK, Banda Nueva, Vocal Force and Wanmpy de La Gomera, among many other artists.

Alongside the music come some of the most eagerly awaited moments of the fiestas, such as the pregón (the opening address), the election of the Fiestas Queen, the procession of the Virgen del Carmen on land and at sea, the fireworks display and a busy sporting programme that includes football, beach handball, volleyball, jolateros (model boats built from tin cans), video game and many other popular competitions.
