The village of Órzola is getting ready to celebrate its traditional Fiestas de Santa Rosa de Lima with a wide programme running from 17 to 23 August, organised by the Ayuntamiento de Haría together with the village's Asociación Cultural Lúdico Festiva Peña Hendida.

On Monday 17 August, the fiestas begin from 9:00 am with the decorating of the village and, at 11:00 am, the Drawing and Mural Creation Competition for all ages will be held at the Centro Sociocultural Caletón Blanco, where traditional games will follow at 12:00 noon.
In the afternoon, the Truco and Envite Championship starts at 5:00 pm. The day continues at 8:00 pm with a street parade led by the batucada Los Yaiseros, followed at 9:30 pm by the opening proclamation given by the village's young people. The night ends with an asalto livened up by Swing del Norte, from 10:30 pm.
On Tuesday 18 August, the programme continues at 11:00 am with a rosetas workshop led by Estefanía. The Ronda and Chinchón tournament takes place at 6:00 pm and, at 9:00 pm, Órzola's young people will star in the lip-sync show.
On Wednesday 19 August, the programme begins at 10:00 am with a workshop making little flags for Santa Rosa. At 12:00 noon, La Cantería beach will host various sports activities, with separate categories for under-14s and over-14s. In the afternoon, the Tortilla Competition will be held at 6:30 pm and, at 9:00 pm, the Escuela de Baile Lanzarote Baila will give a performance at the Centro Sociocultural.
On Thursday 20 August, the children's party will be held in El Lajiar, while in the afternoon, at 6:00 pm, Santiaguito and Carmelo will give a demonstration of gofio making. At 7:00 pm, Pueblo Maho and Jurria Temeje will lead a display of Juego del Palo, Salto del Pastor and Silbo. At 8:30 pm there will be a popular barbecue with the burning of Quevedo and, from 9:30 pm, the Fiesta Canaria will be held, for which traditional dress is recommended, with music from the groups Son del Norte and El Golpito.
Friday 21 August starts at 11:00 am with the Table Football Championship and, half an hour later, there will be bouncy mats, games and crafts at the Centro Sociocultural. The Bola Championship will be played at 5:30 pm, while the Surprise Bingo will be held at 6:00 pm. At 8:00 pm, Vicky Dos Santos will tell stories and the day will end with the popular verbena, from 11:00 pm, with music from the bands Los Conejeros and Lanzarote Swing.
On Saturday 22 August, at 10:30 am there will be a percussion workshop led by Karina. The Table Tennis Tournament, organised by Club Temelan, will take place at 11:30 am, while from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm there will be a market of products by artisans from the north of the island. The Baking Competition will be held at 5:00 pm and, in the evening, at 8:30 pm, the Petiso Festival arrives with performances by Kinight Lizards, Bourbon and Graduado Escolar. The music continues at 2:00 am with a set by D’J Osa.
Finally, on Sunday 23 August, at 10:00 am, there will be a coastal clean-up led by Papa Cría and WWF. At 12:30 pm, El Lajiar will host the zumba masterclass and, at 2:00 pm, the verbena del agua (water verbena) will begin, with music from Los Conejeros.
