On 23 July at 8:00 pm, the Restaurante Castillo de San José will host Diálogo Libre, a proposal that brings together gastronomy and live music in an experience designed to be enjoyed with all the senses. The evening will begin with a dinner prepared especially for the occasion and will continue with a concert in which pianist Gino Marcelli and cellist Yurena Darias will travel through a broad sonic universe spanning classical music, jazz, film scores and Canarian music.
Two artists of international standing
Diálogo Libre grew out of the meeting between the elegance of the cello and the improvising freedom of jazz piano. The programme offers a musical journey in which original compositions sit alongside great film soundtracks, pop, Canarian roots music and other genres, all enriching one another through personal arrangements and improvisation.
Italian pianist, composer and producer Gino Marcelli has a wide-ranging international career taking in jazz, classical music, film and television. He has worked with artists of the calibre of Andrea Bocelli, Zucchero, Simple Minds and Trilok Gurtu, as well as building a respected career as a film composer and releasing several solo records.
He will be joined on stage by the Gomeran cellist Yurena Darias, one of the most versatile performers on the Canarian music scene. Her career ranges from classical and early music to tango, jazz, improvisation and the popular music of the islands. The only viola da gamba player in the Canary Islands, she is part of projects such as Aborá Cel, Alma de Bolero Clásico and Trío Sherezade.
