The Academia de Ciencias, Ingenierías y Humanidades de Lanzarote holds its VI Jornadas Literarias de Otoño this week, a new edition with three sessions devoted to Jorge Luis Borges, Canarian writer Lola Suárez and Miguel de Unamuno. All sessions begin at 7:00 pm at the Hotel Lancelot Playa in Arrecife.
The series opens this Wednesday 9 September with a tribute to Borges, 40 years after his death in Geneva. The session will be led by María Dolores Fajardo Espino, full member of the ACIHL. The following day the spotlight turns to Lola Suárez, the author honoured on the Día de las Escritoras Canarias, and the programme closes on Friday with a lecture on Unamuno marking the 90th anniversary of his death.
Three literary sessions
Wednesday 9 September, 7:00 pm. Recordando a J.L. Borges en el 40 aniversario de su muerte en Ginebra, by María Dolores Fajardo Espino, qualified commercial expert, with Literature studies at UNED Senior and ULPGC, and full member of the ACIHL.
Thursday 10 September, 7:00 pm. Lola Suárez: las islas contadas y compartidas, by Juan Luis Quincoces Soler, president of the Asociación de Escritores de Lanzarote and corresponding member of the ACIHL in Lanzarote.
Friday 11 September, 7:00 pm. Conmemoración del 90 aniversario de la muerte de Miguel de Unamuno, with Manuel Martín-Arroyo Flores, full member of the ACIHL and secretary of its board.
All three events will be held in person at the Hotel Lancelot Playa, Avenida Mancomunidad, 9, in Arrecife.
