Journalist and writer Vicente Vallés is coming to Lanzarote to present La caza del ejecutor (Espasa, 2025), his latest novel, a spy thriller that blends intrigue, action and international geopolitics. The event takes place on 26 September, at 12 noon, in the Mirador room of the Islote de Fermina, with free admission.
The novel opens in October 2024 with the flight to the Maldives of Mikhail Serkin, head of Russia's foreign intelligence service. His defection triggers a retaliation operation that begins with his own murder and leads Teresa Fuentes, an agent of Spain's CNI intelligence service, and Pablo Perkins, a CIA veteran, to hunt for a mysterious executioner trained to leave no trace. Over 560 pages, the investigation moves through settings such as London, Berlin, New York and Washington in a plot full of twists and power struggles.
Director and presenter of Antena 3 Noticias 2, Vallés has a long career in journalism that includes spells at Cadena SER, TVE, Telemadrid and Telecinco, as well as coverage of every US presidential election since 1992. As an author, he has published the essays Trump y la caída del imperio Clinton and El rastro de los rusos muertos, as well as Operación Kazán, which won the Premio Primavera de Novela in 2022. After the presentation at the Islote de Fermina, the author will sign copies of La caza del ejecutor.
