Writer and paediatrician Carlos González brings his talk on authority and limits in parenting to Lanzarote

Paediatrician and popular writer Carlos González will visit Lanzarote on 3 October to give the talk Autoridad y Límites at the Teatro Municipal de Tías. Regarded as one of the leading voices on respectful parenting in the Spanish-speaking world, González will tackle one of the questions that most concerns mothers and fathers: how to bring up children firmly without giving up the emotional bond with them.

The author of such influential books as Bésame mucho, Mi niño no me come and Un regalo para toda la vida, the paediatrician offers a reflection on traditional models of discipline and puts forward alternatives based on empathy, mutual respect and the development of children's autonomy. The talk will also include a book signing afterwards.

The event forms part of a Canary Islands tour that will also stop in Gran Canaria and Tenerife. The talk will be held between 10:00 and 12:00 at the Teatro Municipal de Tías. Tickets are already on sale, priced at 26 euros, through the Eventop ticketing platform.
