Cine Buñuel continues through September and October with a new programme organised by the Culture Department of the Cabildo de Lanzarote y La Graciosa at El Almacén. Five films and ten screenings make up a programme that once again brings Lanzarote audiences a range of perspectives from contemporary Spanish and international cinema.
The selection combines new work by Spanish filmmakers with European and American productions, and explores, through very different languages and viewpoints, themes such as memory, identity, family relationships, love and the struggle to find a place of one's own.
September programme
On 16 and 17 September, Apuntes para una ficción consentida (2025), by Ana Serret Ituarte, will be screened, a film built as a sound walk drawn from experiences, encounters and small everyday situations.
The programme continues on 23 and 24 September with Sound of Falling (2025), by German director Mascha Schilinski, an immersion in inherited trauma across four generations of women on the same farm. On 30 September and 1 October it is the turn of Yo no moriré de amor (2026), by Marta Matute, which tells the story of a young woman trying to strike a balance between caring for her mother and the desire to live her own youth.
Films in October
On 14 and 15 October comes Iván & Hadoum (2026), by Ian de la Rosa, a love story set in the greenhouses of Almería, starring a trans man and his Moroccan-Spanish co-worker.
Closing the programme, on 21 and 22 October, is Omaha, by Cole Webley, a road movie about two siblings who set off with their father on a journey across the United States after a family tragedy.
