The Fiestas del Carmen of La Villa de Teguise return this July with a broad programme of activities designed for all ages. From 1 to 18 July, residents and visitors can enjoy concerts, verbenas (open-air street parties), theatre, children's activities, sport, food, summer cinema and the traditional religious ceremonies in honour of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, one of the municipality's most deeply rooted celebrations.
Over the two weeks there will be something for everyone, including the asadero popular (community barbecue) and the night of parrandas (traditional Canarian folk groups), concerts for young people, the Festival Acatife, the Noche del Humor with Omaira Cazorla and Abubukaka, summer cinema, theatre, dramatised walking tours, popular competitions, children's activities, the José Fontes Memorial horse races, playback shows and verbenas.
