On 10 and 11 July, at 20:00, the Auditorio Jameos del Agua will stage ‘Víctor’, a musical show paying tribute to the life and legacy of Víctor Fernández Gopar, ‘El Salinero’, one of the most representative figures of Lanzarote's popular culture. The production combines live music, theatre and a carefully crafted staging to bring audiences the story of a man whose work remains an essential part of the island's cultural identity.
Through an original story, the show offers a journey through the memory, traditions and heritage of Lanzarote, connecting past and present by way of the performing arts. The figure of Víctor Fernández Gopar, closely linked to the Salinas de Janubio, serves as the thread for discovering an era marked by attachment to the land, the sea and the oral transmission of Canarian customs.
More than a musical show, ‘Víctor’ is an invitation to be moved and to discover the legacy of a man who turned popular poetry and coplas (traditional sung verses) into a valuable testimony of Lanzarote's history. It is a chance to celebrate the cultural heritage of the Canary Islands through a stage production that honours one of its best-loved figures.
