Fifty free activities for young people this month in San Bartolomé

The Ayuntamiento de San Bartolomé, through its Youth Department, is launching a new edition of ‘Julio Joven’, a summer programme offering a total of 45 free activities throughout July for young people aged 12 and over, with sporting, cultural, educational and healthy leisure options.

The programme features significant new elements compared with previous years. For the first time, activities will reach every village in the municipality, bringing youth leisure closer to more young people and making it easier for them to take part without having to travel. A new inclusive time slot has also been added, with adapted activities and qualified staff, encouraging participation by young people with different needs and moving towards a leisure model that is more accessible to everyone.

The programme includes activities as varied as functional training, yoga, zumba, hiking, table tennis, basketball, five-a-side football, handball, beach volleyball, padel, chess, dominoes, envite (traditional Canarian card game), archery, obstacle races and bola canaria (Canarian bowls). There will also be workshops on graffiti, clay, slime, painting, customising T-shirts and caps, sustainability, healthy eating, first aid, digital apps of interest to young people, music therapy and making musical instruments, among others.

The programme also sets aside space for emotional wellbeing and personal growth, with activities involving relaxation techniques, body expression and debates on mental health. It will be rounded off with a summer cinema session and a closing party to bring this edition to an end. You can see the full programme at the following link:
