The Biblioteca Insular celebrates Canary Islands Day with 'Tenderete de Letras'

The Cabildo de Lanzarote organises the gathering 'Tenderete de Letras', an event taking place at the Biblioteca Insular on Thursday 28 May at 19:00.

The Councillor for Education, Ascensión Toledo, highlights the importance of this initiative within the Canary Islands Day programme because "it is a celebration of our cultural identity through words and community."

'Tenderete de Letras' proposes a cultural evening that fuses literature, live music and Canarian gastronomy, aiming to create a dynamic and participatory afternoon. It also seeks to rescue, through the traditional enyesque, the spirit of the island's traditional tenderetes from a literary and artistic perspective.

The gathering is coordinated by Fabio Carreiro and Sandra Cabrera, who have designed a participatory programme in which words, music and cultural community will be the main axes of the day.

The event will feature the participation of resident writers Guacimara Hernández, Emilio Fernández, Leticia Martín, Mercedes Minguela, Tere Perera, Jaime Quesada and Juan Luis Quincoces.
