Ermita de San Antonio in Tías will host on 28 June a rare proposal within the island's cultural programme: a contemporary symposion inspired by those gatherings of ancient Greece where wine, music, and conversation served as a meeting point to reflect on art, philosophy, and the human condition.
The initiative, driven by ISHTAR Teatro, proposes a participatory gathering around questions such as poetic language, the role of images, music, creativity, or the difference between art, culture, and entertainment. The session will also include a brief theatricalised reading and will be led by Gladys Balaguer from the scenic perspective and by Nino Díaz from the musical side, inviting the audience to take an active part in the dialogue.
The gathering will take place between 12:00 and 1:00 PM and will conclude with a shared glass of wine in honour of Dionysus, a figure linked in classical tradition to theatre and the arts. Admission will be free until full capacity is reached.
