The headquarters of the Lanzarote Biosphere Reserve has launched a programme of guided tours that will reveal both the history of the Casa de los Arroyo and the natural and cultural values that have earned the island UNESCO recognition.
The initiative began on Monday and will run until 8 July, with free tours from Monday to Friday. The visits will be led by an educator specialising in sustainability and will take in various parts of the building, among them the entrance hall, the courtyard, the exhibition rooms and the historic library dedicated to the Lanzarote-born physicist Blas Cabrera Felipe.
As well as bringing the building's architectural and cultural heritage to the public, the activity invites visitors to reflect on some of Lanzarote's main challenges, such as the conservation of the land, the protection of its natural and cultural heritage and adaptation to climate change.
