Arrecife Marina will host the Gara Itsasoa on 17, 18 and 19 June, a one-of-a-kind scientific and outreach catamaran that will open its doors to the public from 9:00 to 19:00.
The vessel, unique in Spain for its design, combines marine research, science outreach and sustainability in a project conceived to bring knowledge of the ocean closer to the public.
During the open days, visitors will be able to walk around the catamaran, see its scientific equipment up close and discover the various strands of work it carries out alongside universities, schools, institutions and organisations linked to the marine environment.
The project works as a floating laboratory, a sea classroom and an ocean exploration platform, driving initiatives around research and environmental education across Macaronesia. The visit is an unusual chance to see a vessel designed specifically for living on and studying the ocean from within, bringing together technology, comfort, outreach and environmental commitment.
Access is by prior registration through the form set up by the organisers.
