Titiritías turns nine with the same philosophy as always: filling the streets of Tías with performing arts without breaking the bank. From 16 to 21 June, the town will host circus, theatre, clown and family shows in the Plaza de la Constitución, the Centro Cívico and other open-air spaces around the municipality.
New this year is a day dedicated to contemporary circus, featuring a Canarian company that blends acrobatics and audiovisual storytelling. The solidarity aspect has also been reinforced: admission to all shows is free, and audiences are invited to donate non-perishable food for the Lanzarote food bank on their way out.
The full programme includes eleven shows, two of them world premieres. Morning performances are designed for children, while evening shows take bolder creative risks. For a few days, Tías becomes the performing arts capital of the Canary Islands.
