The Cabildo de Lanzarote, through its Department of Physical Activity and Sport, has officially presented the thirty-first edition of the Lolina Curbelo Gymnastics festival, established as one of the largest and most anticipated sporting events on the island's calendar.
For 2026, the historic event takes a major format leap by complementing its traditional exhibition sessions with competitive tournaments in the two gymnastics disciplines with deep roots on the island: rhythmic and artistic.
The Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote and the IES Blas Cabrera Felipe sports hall will serve as the main venues for all sessions, with a calendar running from 5 to 14 June. Activities kick off on Friday 5 June with a rhythmic gymnastics masterclass, followed by the Tenesa Fest Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament on Saturday 6 June. The first exhibition session takes place on Wednesday 10 June at 19:00, featuring six Lanzarote teams: TenesaSol, CEIP Capellanía del Yágabo, Tigotán, Salite, Isla de Lanzarote and Ayatima.
From Thursday 11 June, the International Zapata's Cup Tournament begins with the first artistic gymnastics subdivision at 17:00, followed by the festival's second exhibition session at 20:30. High-level competition continues throughout the weekend with successive subdivisions from 08:45 on Friday 12, Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June.
